Senior Tax Accountant - Remote U.S
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This role involves a combination of tax compliance, accounting, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax and accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Responsibilities
- Conduct accounting and financial statement preparation for various clients.
- Handle tax preparation for individual and business tax returns, sales tax reporting, and payroll processing.
- Assist in developing and implementing tax planning strategies.
- Collaborate with staff and managers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of client services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and proactive advice.
- Support the training and development of staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or working towards CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in small business accounting with a focus on tax.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with accounting, financial statement preparation, sales tax reporting, and payroll processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- A proactive and client-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Compensation & Benefits
Location: Remote, U.S. (Relocation to Dearborn, MI, preferred but not required)
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year [depends on experience]
